Mount Kinabalu, the FOURTH tallest mountain in South East Asia

Yep, that’s the fact. Not the first, nor second, nor third, but FOURTH!

In the past, our folks/countrymen used to tell us that that Mount Kinabalu, Malaysia was the tallest in South East Asia. But the ‘fact’ is not a fact anymore and we have to change our mind, yet again …

I was surprised actually, of how come this ‘fact’ cannot be a ‘fact’ anymore. Is there a new discovery of taller mountain(s); particularly in South East Asia? The current tallest peak, Hkakabo Razi, Myanmar was only ‘discovered’ and established in 1996 (quite new, no?).

But I think rank is just a rank. Whether which one is the tallest, ‘beautiest’, et cetera, the most important is our role to conserve the nature as it was … keeping it safe and protected coz perhaps it’ll be our only treasure for the next generations …

Hmm … Did I sound like a naturist? Don’t laugh coz I am not serious … 😛

  1. Yes, I agree with you that Mount Kinabalu is not the highest in SEA. That is why I wrote Mount Kinabalu is “the highest climber-friendly mountain” in SEA.
